Undergraduate Lab
Our Undergraduate Lab houses 28 color workstations that allow students to run
their programs from our servers. Three Linux Servers, each with Dual 1.8GHz CPUs
and 4 GigaBytes of memory, provide the horsepower for the lab. The lab is located in
room 2118 of
the Mathematical Sciences Building.
Students can use the lab to work on assignments with Matlab, Mathematica or any of
the other software we have available. We maintain a list of
some of the more notable Mathematics software installed on our systems.
Lab hours are 9-5, Monday to Friday. Mathematics faculty can make
reservations by sending class name, date and time to
rooms@math.ucdavis.edu.
Special software requirements or accounts should be sent to
help@math.ucdavis.edu
at least one business day before the lab is needed.
These facilitites are available to Math Majors and undergraduates taking Math
classes that involve computing projects. Math Majors who want a long term
account should send email to
help@math.ucdavis.edu. People
in the above classes who are not math majors should contact their professor.
Anyone else is eligible for computing accounts for the core campus labs through
Information and Educational Technology.
